Description
Dracaena Song of India
Habit
Upright, branching growth habit with narrow leaves produced along woody stems. Plants become fuller and more sculptural as they mature.
Growth Rate
Slow to moderate.
Placement
Best suited to bright indoor spaces on a tabletop, plant stand or floor depending on the size of the plant.
Leaf Size
Long, narrow leaves with green centres and contrasting yellow to lime margins.
Light
Medium to bright indirect light is ideal. Brighter light helps maintain stronger variegation, although the plant can tolerate lower light with slower growth.
Water
Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry well before watering again. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.
Soil
Rays Retail Nursery’s Premium Aroid Mix
Feeding
Light to moderate feeder. Feed regularly during active growth. Grab some Novion before checkout.
Humidity
Average household humidity is generally sufficient.
Sensitivities
Sensitive to overwatering. Brown tips can occasionally develop on older leaves.
Pet Safe
No. Dracaenas can cause stomach upset if chewed or ingested by pets.
Rays Says
"Song of India is an easy, slow-growing option with loads of colour. Give it good light to keep the yellow variegation strong, let the soil dry properly between waterings and don’t stress about the occasional brown tip."
