Habit
Upright, clumping aroid that produces new leaves from a central corm. Growth is generally compact while young but becomes fuller and taller with maturity.
 
Growth Rate
Moderate. Variegated plants usually grow more slowly than green Alocasias because the white portions of the leaves contain less chlorophyll.
 
Placement
Best suited to a bright tabletop, plant stand or floor position as it matures. Keep it somewhere with enough light to support strong variegation.
 
Leaf Size
Mature leaves can become large, often reaching around 30 to 50 cm or more under good growing conditions.
 
Light
Bright indirect light is best. Variegated Frydek benefits from stronger light than many green Alocasias to maintain healthy growth and good variegation. Gentle morning or late-afternoon sun is usually tolerated once acclimated.
 
Water
Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to mostly dry before watering again. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.
