Description
Alocasia Jacklyn
Habit
Upright, clumping aroid with long petioles and large, deeply textured leaves. Growth becomes increasingly bold and architectural as the plant matures.
Growth Rate
Moderate to fast during warm, active growing periods.
Placement
Best suited to a bright plant stand or floor position as it matures. Jacklyn can become quite large and needs more space than many compact Alocasias.
Leaf Size
Leaves can become large with maturity, commonly reaching around 40 to 60 cm or more under good growing conditions.
Light
Bright indirect light is ideal. Gentle morning or late-afternoon sun is usually tolerated once acclimated.
Water
Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to mostly dry before watering again. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.

Feeding
Moderate to heavy feeder during active growth. Regular feeding supports larger leaves and stronger growth. Grab some Novion before checkout.
Humidity
Average household humidity is generally sufficient. Higher humidity can improve leaf quality and support stronger growth.
Sensitivities
Sensitive to overwatering, cold temperatures and sudden environmental changes. Particularly prone to spider mites.
Pet Safe
No. Contains calcium oxalate crystals and can cause irritation if chewed or ingested by pets.
Rays Says
"Jacklyn gets much bigger than it looks when you first buy it, so give it room to grow. Bright light, warmth and regular feeding will help it produce those big, heavily textured leaves."
