Habit
Upright, clumping aroid that produces new leaves from a central corm. Although considered a Jewel Alocasia, Watsoniana can become substantially larger than many other jewel varieties.
 
Growth Rate
Moderate under warm, bright conditions.
 
Placement
Best suited to a bright tabletop or plant stand while young. As it matures, Watsoniana can become a much larger feature plant and will need more space around its foliage.
 
Leaf Size
Large, dramatic leaves that can become substantially bigger than those of most Jewel Alocasias as the plant matures.
 
Light
Bright indirect light is ideal. Avoid harsh direct sun, especially on the darker foliage.
 
Water
Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to mostly dry before watering again. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.
