Best suited to bright indoor spaces on a tabletop, plant stand or floor depending on the size of the plant.
 
Leaf Size
Varies between varieties, with leaves generally becoming larger and fuller as the plant matures.
 
Light
Medium to bright indirect light is ideal. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can fade or scorch the foliage.
 
Water
Keep the soil consistently lightly moist. Calatheas do not like drying out completely, but should not be left sitting in waterlogged soil. Self-watering pots can work particularly well once the plant is established.
 
Soil

Feeding
Light to moderate feeder. Feed regularly but lightly during active growth. Grab some Novion before checkout.
 
Humidity
Moderate to high humidity is preferred. Higher humidity helps reduce crispy leaf edges and keeps new growth looking its best. A pebble tray can also help increase humidity around the plant.
 
Sensitivities
Sensitive to drying out, cold drafts, inconsistent watering and low humidity. Brown or crispy leaf edges are common if conditions are too dry or inconsistent.

Yes. Calatheas are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
