Habit
Low-growing, spreading plant with a soft, trailing habit. Stems gradually spread outward and can spill over the edge of the pot as the plant matures.
 
Growth Rate
Moderate to fast under warm conditions with consistent care.
 
Placement
Best suited to tabletops, shelves, plant stands and hanging pots. Marantas also do particularly well in bright bathrooms where they can benefit from the extra humidity.
 
Leaf Size
Small to medium foliage, with leaves remaining fairly compact as the plant spreads.
 
Light
Medium to bright indirect light is ideal. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can fade or scorch the foliage.
 
Water
Keep the soil lightly moist, but avoid keeping it constantly wet. Marantas are fairly forgiving and can tolerate the soil drying slightly between waterings.
 
Soil

Feeding
Light to moderate feeder. Feed regularly but lightly during active growth. Grab some Novion before checkout.
 
Humidity
Average household humidity is generally sufficient, although higher humidity helps keep the foliage looking its best. Bathrooms with good natural light are a great option.
 
Sensitivities
Sensitive to prolonged dryness, cold drafts and harsh direct sun. Brown leaf edges can develop if conditions remain too dry.

Yes. Marantas are generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs.
