Description
Monstera Thai Constellation
Habit
Climbing aroid that produces aerial roots and naturally grows upward when given support.
Growth Rate
Moderate to fast under warm, bright conditions. Variegated varieties generally grow more slowly.
Placement
Best suited to a bright indoor position. Smaller plants work well on shelves or plant stands, while mature plants may need floor space. A moss pole or plank will encourage stronger, more mature growth.
Leaf Size
Varies between varieties. Leaves generally become larger and develop stronger fenestration as the plant matures and climbs.
Light
Bright indirect light is ideal. Most varieties tolerate medium light, although growth and fenestration may reduce. Variegated varieties benefit from brighter light to maintain strong colour.
Water
Allow the soil to dry out completely, then wait for the plant to show slight signs of thirst before watering thoroughly. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.
Soil
Rays Retail Nursery’s Chunky Premium Aroid Mix
Feeding
Moderate to heavy feeder during active growth. Regular feeding supports larger leaves and faster growth. Grab some Novion before checkout.
Humidity
Average household humidity is generally sufficient. Higher humidity can improve growth and leaf quality but is not essential.
Sensitivities
Sensitive to overwatering and prolonged cold conditions. Variegated leaves may develop brown areas more easily than green foliage.
Pet Safe
No. Contains calcium oxalate crystals and can cause irritation if chewed or ingested by pets.
Rays Says
"Give your Monstera something sturdy to climb. Better support, bright light and regular feeding will encourage larger leaves and stronger fenestration. Let the soil dry properly between waterings and don’t be too quick to water just because the top looks dry."
