Habit
Upright, clumping plant with large leaves produced on long, sturdy stems. Mature plants develop a bold, architectural shape and can become substantial indoor feature plants.
 
Growth Rate
Moderate to fast under warm, bright conditions.
 
Placement
Best suited to a bright floor position with plenty of room around it. Strelitzias can become very large indoors and are better suited to open spaces as they mature.
 
Leaf Size
Large paddle-shaped leaves that can reach well over 1 metre long on mature plants.
 
Light
Low to very bright indirect light. Strelitzias are surprisingly adaptable and can tolerate lower-light positions, although growth will be slower. In brighter positions they will generally grow faster and produce stronger, more compact growth.
 
Water
Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry well before watering again. Avoid keeping the soil constantly wet.
