Slow to moderate. Jewel Alocasias generally grow more slowly than larger Alocasia varieties.

Best suited to tabletops, shelves and plant stands where their detailed foliage can be appreciated up close. Most remain relatively compact.

Generally smaller and more compact than standard Alocasias, although leaf size varies between varieties.

Feeding
Moderate feeder during active growth. Regular light feeding supports healthy growth. Grab some Novion before checkout.
Humidity
Higher humidity is beneficial and can improve leaf quality, although most can still adapt to normal household conditions.
Sensitivities
Sensitive to overwatering, cold temperatures and sudden environmental changes. Particularly prone to spider mites and root problems if kept too wet.
Pet Safe
No. Contains calcium oxalate crystals and can cause irritation if chewed or ingested by pets.
Rays Says
"Jewel Alocasias are slower and a little fussier than the bigger varieties, but their foliage makes up for it. Give them bright light, warmth and a chunky soil mix, and be especially careful not to keep them wet."
