A lightweight, moisture-retentive growing medium that holds water around developing roots while still allowing good airflow.
Sphagnum moss is one of our favourite materials for propagation because it keeps cuttings and young roots evenly moist without packing tightly around them.

"One of the best options for props. Use it for cuttings, corms, moss poles, terrariums and other propagation setups.
It can also be reused. Rinse it thoroughly and sanitise it with diluted hydrogen peroxide before using it again.
For orchids, we generally prefer a more open bark and BioChar-based mix rather than growing them in straight sphagnum moss."
